Manli Cousins Community Contributes to Peace Efforts in Fada N’Gourma

Gourma: The community of Manli cousins of Fada N'Gourma presented a financial envelope of 100,000 CFA francs to the Faso Mªbo agency on Monday, August 17, 2026, and contributed to the work of collecting and storing paving stones.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Manli cousins community participated in efforts to consolidate peace and social cohesion in the Goulmou region by engaging in activities at the Faso Mªbo agency construction site. The community's involvement included the collection and organization of paving stones, which are crucial for the site's development.

"This civic action was accompanied by a financial contribution of 100,000 CFA francs," stated Diony Armiyao, a trader and spokesperson for the group. He emphasized that this initiative is part of a unity-driven approach led by their president, Thiombiano Bontiellimani, aiming to unite members of the four major Manli families to tackle pressing challenges in the locality.

Diony Armiyao highlighted the current adversities faced by Fada N'Gourma, noting the torn social fabric and rising insecurity. He stressed that the community's efforts are a response to these issues, prioritizing commitment to the homeland over personal gains.

The spokesperson reminded the community about the collective responsibility in nation-building, urging all citizens to contribute to the country's development despite the difficulties. "If we want to build the country and you are a worthy son of the country, whatever the difficulties, you must also mature in your thinking and help to build the country. It is not necessary that others build and you die in it," he added.

The Manli cousins community hopes their actions will inspire other local actors, fostering a broader wave of solidarity and aiding in the reconstruction of the social fabric and the restoration of peace in Burkina Faso.
