The students of the Karasso-Koura public primary school mobilized for the synchronized flag-raising ceremony on Monday, November 17, 2025, organized simultaneously in schools and universities across Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the school director, Nicolas Dakyo, recalled that this event is part of the national campaign "Deme Sira" which promotes civic engagement through solidarity. Despite the modest size of his institution, he was determined that the school would not remain on the sidelines of the national dynamic.
Thus, from 7 a.m., the members of the school council joined the students and teachers to share together the values of solidarity. Using concrete examples from the daily lives of students and parents, the headteacher explained the theme of the campaign: "Solidarity, our common strength."
He then delivered the official message entitled "sow the seed of solidarity", inviting everyone to be an actor in this essential value. Nicolas Dakyo explained to the students the civic significance of the 'Deme Sira' campaign.
Visibly moved, the students made a firm resolution to remain united and to pass on this spirit around them, in order to contribute to a united and supportive society.
