Kombissiri: Tinsobtenga Public Primary School in Kombissiri City observed a synchronized flag-raising ceremony on Monday, November 17, 2025, as part of the national "Deme Sira" campaign. The students were taught values of solidarity, patriotism, mutual aid, and social cohesion during the ceremony.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event at Tinsobtenga Public Primary School in sector 1 of Kombissiri started at 7:30 a.m. and was part of a broader initiative aimed at fostering national awareness and civic responsibility in schools across Burkina Faso. This initiative, called "Deme Sira" or "Solidarity," was launched by the Ministry of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity to promote essential values among young learners.
The headmaster, Marcellin Bazongo, alongside teachers, engaged students in discussions about the campaign's theme, "Solidarity, our common strength." Mr. Bazongo emphasized the civic importance of the "Deme Sira" campaign and discussed topics like mutual support, sharing, and respect for authority figures.
He encouraged students to actively participate in school activities and contribute to its maintenance, highlighting the school's role as a public asset. Mr. Bazongo expressed a commitment to continue these discussions throughout the school year during civic education sessions, aiming to instill these social values in students, who are viewed as the future architects of Burkina Faso.
