Kaya: The Kaya central police station presented to the press a network of two alleged burglars arrested with a large batch of equipment in their possession.
According to Burkina Information Agency, OL and OB, respectively a mason and a gold miner, both aged 33, form a network of criminals. All repeat offenders, they have been in the police's custody since March 15, 2025, for burglaries of homes and businesses in the town of Kaya.
The search carried out by Pegwend© Alassane Ou©draogo's men resulted in the seizure of household appliances, goods, cereals, solar panels, clothing, a Yamaha Sirius moped, a laptop, among other items. "All these goods were stolen from more than ten victims, including two FDS currently engaged in operations to recapture the territory," said the chief police commissioner.
Police Lieutenant Rahamani Traor©, deputy head of the search brigade, added that the stolen loot was divided into two parts for each of the burglars. "It was in light of the recurrent complaints that the search brigade of the Kaya central police station conducted investigations that led to the dismantling and arrest of a network of two criminals on March 15, 2025," explained Commissioner Pegwend© Alassane Ou©draogo, central police commissioner of Kaya.
Shops without night guards and homes where the occupants are absent are the target of the OL and OB duo, who take the time to identify the premises before burglarizing at night using tools capable of breaking and entering.
According to Police Captain Palm Brouill©, head of the judicial police department, legal proceedings have already been initiated against the suspects. They will be brought before the competent courts shortly. Acknowledging the public's frank cooperation, the central police commissioner reassures that these men will always be quick to respond to any report of a suspicious case, by calling the hotline numbers 16, 17 or 1010.
