Ouagadougou: The Secretary General of the Nahouri Province, Emile Hien, presided over the Day of Excellence this Saturday in Kaya, in the commune of Tiebele. The initiative, organized by the Kaya Development Association "Kaya Tiina or Hope of Kaya," was in its inaugural year. The ceremony was attended by sons, daughters, and friends of Kaya, who came to support the association and those involved in education.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the leaders of "Kaya Tiina or Hope of Kaya" aim to encourage the best actors in education in their village and to foster healthy competition among them. In this first 2025 edition, more than sixty students were recognized for their achievements.
The event highlighted the accomplishments of the top students from the five primary schools, each receiving a school kit and a bicycle for those advancing to higher grades. Similarly, students from 6th grade to the first A and D classes of the high school and the CEG were awarded. Outstanding students in the BAC A and D categories received a complete computer, while other BAC winners were granted a scholarship of 15,000 CFA francs.
Teachers and school principals were also acknowledged for their contributions. B. Facal Addi, president of the association, emphasized unity and support for the village's development efforts, noting that the success of Kaya's children is a collective victory. He praised the teachers' efforts and encouraged continued dedication to education.
Maitre Bouba Yaguibou, representing the sponsors, expressed gratitude to those committed to providing quality education and to the association for its first-year initiative. Secretary General Emile Hien commended the association and encouraged education stakeholders to continue their efforts, noting the impressive academic results achieved in Kaya.
Additionally, the CEO of Guidjara Hotel, B. Facal Addi, contributed hospital equipment valued at 1,600,000 CFA francs to the Kaya CSPS. The day was blessed by traditional authorities and supported by local leaders, with co-sponsorship from Bouba Yaguibou, former deputy mayor of Po, and Jacques Songa, president of REA Express.
