Namentenga: A coalition of associations raises awareness among the population about child protection in emergency situations. The National Coordination of Associations of Working Children and Youth of Burkina Faso (CN/AEJTB) organized an awareness session on Thursday, November 20, 2025, in Boulsa. This initiative aims to reduce violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation suffered by children affected by food insecurity and to strengthen their protection during emergency situations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the first stage of the caravan will raise awareness among the populations of Kaya, Kongoussi, Malou, and Boulsa. The campaign focuses on child protection in the context of emergency and food insecurity, utilizing theatrical and musical performances to convey its message.

The activity received support from the provincial director in charge of Humanitarian Action in Namentenga, Noregma Ouedraogo. Burkinabe music icon Habibou Sawadogo and his band performed songs centered on child protection, while a forum theatre performance was presented by renowned artists Joseph Tapsoba, known as Chocho from the TV series "Commissariat de Tampy," and Moussa Sourgou, known as DG from the TV series "Affaires publiques," captivating the audience.

The audience condemned behaviors harmful to children's development, such as begging and child marriage. They also suggested solutions, including promoting and strengthening community solidarity, work, and integrity.

"The support of the provincial authorities for the realization of the caravan, as well as the support and participation of the people in the musical and theatrical performances, constitute a great satisfaction for me," stated caravan manager Nouroudine Lougue.
