Kayan:The special delegation of Kayan's rural commune convened its third ordinary session of 2026 on Tuesday, September 22, under the leadership of Yacouba Barro, president of the special delegation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session began with a welcome address from Barro to the members of the special delegation and municipal bodies. He emphasized that the session would focus on discussions concerning local development and community management. The meeting, structured around four agenda items, commenced with the unanimous approval of the previous session's minutes from June 23, 2026.

The gathering proceeded with the examination and adoption of various resolutions. These included the naming of a communal cultural space and allocating a 1,656 m² plot to the National Office for Water and Sanitation for building an administrative facility.

Discussions also featured a budget orientation debate for the 2027 initial budget. Members proposed strategies to enhance municipal revenues, such as improving tax collection, engaging the diaspora, and encouraging contributions from Kayan residents. On the expenditure side, they recommended investments in school infrastructure, health for humans and animals, and acquiring income-generating equipment for the municipality.

The session concluded with a call for greater youth involvement in local development initiatives. Additionally, a certificate of recognition was awarded to Fatogoma Coulibaly for more than two decades of community service.
