Orodara: The organizing committee of the third edition of the Balani Awards, supported by the Lonni association, met on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Orodara with women and men from the media to discuss preparations for this cultural event scheduled for December 13.
According to Burkina Information Agency, under the direction of the Commissioner General, Abdoul Rasak Traore, this press conference provided an opportunity to present the innovations and objectives of the 2025 edition. Mr. Traore emphasized that this third edition is intended to be one of recognition, unity, and cultural influence. "Through this celebration, we pay tribute to creators who, in the shadow of the hills and markets, keep alive the flame of our region's sonic heritage," he stated, highlighting the event as a space where heritage and modernity meet.
The general commission has announced several innovations for this edition. The number of nominees has increased from three to five per category. A special prize called the 'Ibrahim Traore Prize' will also be established to reward artists who have produced works promoting the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the government's efforts in reconquering the territory.
In terms of prizes, the committee plans to produce works for the winners, award a 300 m² plot for the 2025 Balani d'or, provide a motorcycle for the public prize, and offer training on cultural entrepreneurship and artistic career management for cultural actors. Tourist visits are also planned to promote domestic tourism.
Despite some organizational difficulties, the organizing committee expressed confidence in the success of this edition, aiming to promote local culture and strengthen social cohesion through art and music.
