Kenedougou Health Center Expands with New Medical Imaging Service

Kenedougou: The medical center in Kenedougou has significantly enhanced its capabilities with the addition of a new medical imaging service, costing over 70,000,000 FCFA, at the Orodara Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA). The keys to this new facility were handed over by the High Commissioner of the Kenedougou province, Sadou Sakira, to the health authorities of the Orodara health district on Tuesday, March 24, 2024. This development is aimed at improving patient care in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the establishment of the medical imaging service was made possible through financial support from the Guiriko Special Delegation and other donors. The new service is designed to meet the crucial need for diagnostic services, improving access to imaging examinations and enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.

Sadou Sakira, the High Commissioner of Kenedougou Province, highlighted that the new facility is expected to bridge the diagnostic gap in the region. It aims to bring healthcare services closer to the local population and reduce the necessity for medical evacuations to other areas, which often incur additional costs.

Emphasizing the importance of the new equipment, Sakira mentioned that its precision would facilitate earlier detection of illnesses, enabling faster and more effective treatments. He also urged healthcare workers to utilize the new service rigorously to maximize its benefits.

Dr. Idrissa Evariste Dakuyo, the Chief Medical Officer of the Orodara health district, expressed his appreciation for this advancement in healthcare. He noted that the new service would enhance the quality of diagnoses and strengthen patient trust in the healthcare system, assuring that all necessary measures are in place for its optimal operation.

Dr. Dakuyo also mentioned that several examinations are already being conducted with the new medical imaging service, marking a significant milestone in healthcare provision for the region.
