Kenedougou/Raising of the Colors: The PDS Calls for Food Sovereignty

Kenedougou: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Banzon, Sie Poda, presided over a significant flag-raising ceremony at the El Phata private high school as part of the 3rd National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC). During the event, he emphasized the importance of achieving food sovereignty among the population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony witnessed the participation of diverse groups, including public and private services, the Defence and Security Forces (FDS), municipal staff, and the Opportunity Integration Referents. The students of the Banzon 'D' public primary school performed the national anthem in Moore, adding a cultural touch to the proceedings.

Sie Poda conveyed a message from the President of Faso, encouraging the public to adopt eating habits centered around local product consumption. This message was aligned with the event's theme, "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism." He also called on citizens to fulfill their tax obligations, highlighting the exemplary behavior of members of the citizen watch.

A notable moment from the ceremony was the acknowledgment of Allassane Sawadogo, a person with a motor disability, who fulfilled his tax duties despite facing challenges. His action was commended by police commissioner Salifou Kabre, who also reimbursed Sawadogo for the tax amount, reflecting a gesture of civic-mindedness and solidarity that was appreciated by all participants.
