Kenedougou Soap-Making Workshop Trains Over 20 Women

Kenedougou: The Banzon Youth Promotion and Professional Integration Service recently hosted a practical training session on soap-making techniques, drawing participation from over 20 women from the commune. Held from May 8 to 9, 2026, the workshop aimed to bolster the economic empowerment of these women by facilitating the creation of income-generating activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the participants spent two days learning to produce various types of soap, including CITEC soap, Kabacourou soap, and liquid soap. The organizers noted that the initiative was successful due to the enthusiastic participation of the women and the assistance provided by the Opportunity Integration Referents (ROPI).

Upon completion of the training, the women expressed their satisfaction and eagerness to apply their newfound skills. They are contemplating forming a collective to initiate soap production ventures.

Drissa Traor©, head of the service for promoting and integrating young people professionally in Banzon, praised the dedication shown by the participants throughout the training. He urged them to utilize their acquired skills to establish income-generating activities and achieve financial autonomy.
