Leraba: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Komto¨ga concluded the Organization of Sport, Culture and Leisure at Primary School (OSCEP) 2026 activities on Friday in D¨ga, a village within the commune of Komto¨ga, Boulgou province. The event was marked by a football final where Womzougou public primary school triumphed over Saint-Pierre school of Komto¨ga with a decisive 3-0 victory.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the football final took place on the field in D¨ga, drawing the participation and enthusiasm of educational actors, administrative and customary authorities, and the local population. This gathering signified the end of the OSCEP 2026 activities, which had been a platform for fostering educational and cultural engagement among young students.
Naaba Siguiri, the chief of D¨ga, expressed his approval of hosting such an event in his village, emphasizing the importance of sport and culture in promoting peace and social harmony. His sentiments were echoed by Lucien Bila, head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Komto¨ga, who highlighted this year's theme: "Sport and culture, symbols of resilience for sustainable development."
Bila noted that OSCEP's activities serve as a vital framework for enhancing connections among students, teachers, and educational communities. He underlined the values of team spirit, respect, solidarity, and social cohesion promoted through these activities. Additionally, Lucien Bila extended his appreciation to the village chief of D¨ga for his support in facilitating the event's launch and closure, as well as to the OSCEP executive board, teachers, supervisors, and all contributors to the competitions' success.
The event's sponsor, Moussa DabrE, an economic operator and native of D¨ga, expressed satisfaction in supporting the OSCEP 2026 activities. He applauded the efforts of the Komto¨ga CCEB, OSCEP's executive office, and the teachers involved in organizing the edition. Mr. DabrE also thanked his family, friends, and colleagues for their assistance during the event's organization.
The closing ceremony witnessed the attendance of decentralized service heads, educational authorities, and the secretary general of the municipality of Komto¨ga, Benjamin KaborE. The conclusion of the OSCEP 2026 activities marked the end of several weeks of sports and cultural competitions held across the district's schools.
