Kindi: As part of the celebration of National Tree Day, administrative authorities, civil society, and the population of Kindi mobilized on Saturday, June 20, 2026, for a tree planting operation at the Women's House in the commune. At around 7:30 a.m., the president of the special delegation (PDS), Yves Ahmed Sanou, accompanied by department heads, traditional authorities, and citizens, set the tone for this eco-citizen activity. In line with the national slogan "My concession, my tree," the participants planted several varieties of saplings within the grounds of the Women's Center.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this mobilization demonstrates the local community's commitment to restoring vegetation and beautifying public spaces. Following the planting session, the PDS, Yves Ahmed Sanou, commended the patriotism shown by all those present. Recalling the current environmental challenges, he stressed the imperative not to limit ourselves to planting the seedlings, but also to ensure rigorous monitoring to guarantee their survival.
"Planting a tree is a noble act, but maintaining it is a civic duty," he stressed, before urging every citizen to take ownership of the initiative by planting and protecting at least one tree within their own concession. The ceremony, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, ended with a family photo, immortalizing this important step in the reforestation campaign in the commune of Kindi.
