K©n©dougou Community Security Enhanced with Donation of Walkie-Talkies

K©n©dougou: A native of the commune of Kourinion, telecommunications engineer San Christophe Traor©, has officially handed over thirty transmitter-receiver stations (walkie-talkies) to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) of the commune. The donation, made on Monday, July 21, 2025, aims to strengthen the VDP's communication capabilities in their ongoing efforts to combat insecurity. The ceremony was presided over by the High Commissioner of the province of K©n©dougou, Sadou Sakira.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provision of these walkie-talkies addresses a specific complaint made by the Municipal Coordination of Citizen Monitoring. The president of this coordination, Pi© Diakalia Traor©, expressed gratitude towards the donor, recognizing the support as crucial for the VDP's operations on the ground.

San Christophe Traor© explained that the initiative is designed to equip the VDPs with necessary communication tools, especially given the current fragile security situation. He emphasized his motivation by stating, "As a son of the commune, I deemed it useful to act at my level to respond to the call of the President of Faso."

The head of the Kourinion canton, His Majesty Ernest Traor©, praised the donor's contribution, viewing it as an act of solidarity and patriotism. Additionally, High Commissioner Sadou Sakira acknowledged the importance of the gesture and encouraged other natives of Kourinion to support the security forces and VDP.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to San Christophe Traor© and another citizen who regularly donates bread to the VDP. Attendees also visited the bridge on the Kourinion-Toussiana axis, which is at risk of collapsing due to heavy rains.
