Children from Koranic Homes Celebrated at Razball Tournament Finale

Bobo-dioulasso: Sector 10 of the city of Bobo-Dioulasso hosted the grand finale of the razball tournament this Sunday, dedicated exclusively to children from Koranic homes. Organized by the Association for the Implementation of Razball (APIRAZ), the competition brought together 10 teams, which began on June 28.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in the final, the Al Abtal team, in red and from sector 25, defeated Bilal from sector 32, dressed in blue. The final score was clear: +38 for Al Abtal against +4 for Bilal. In razball, each goal scored, called a "Razi," is worth 3 points.

Under the theme "Razball, a factor of integration of all social classes", this edition was marked by a strong mobilization of the population and the presence of local authorities.

Zakaria Bandaogo, promoter of razball and initiator of the tournament, emphasized the goal of creating a space for growth, fraternity, and social cohesion for often marginalized children. "We thank the authorities and participants for their support and presence," he stated.

Born from the initiative of Mr. Bandaogo, a magistrate by profession, razball is a Burkinabe sport whose first rules were tested on March 18, 2021, before an official launch in Bobo on July 31 of the same year. This sport continues to develop through various competitions and arouses growing interest among young people.

Razball, inspired by football and tennis, is played on a small field, with a classic ball. A net placed at a height of eighty centimeters from the ground separates the two teams. The goal is to pass the ball under this net without touching it. It is a sport without physical contact, focusing on speed, precision, and teamwork. Originality: it also encourages the use of local languages during the game. Its field is called zangayar© which means clearing in the Bissa language.
