Koosin/72 Hours of the Dozos: The Bankui Brotherhood Relaunches Its Traditional Activities

Bankui: The association of dozos and traditional healers of Bankui, initiated, from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 March 2026, the ''72 hours of the dozos'', under the theme: "Dozo custom and traditions in a context of struggle for national sovereignty".

According to Burkina Information Agency, after several years of inactivity, the Dozo brotherhood of Bankui has revived its ancestral traditions by launching the "72 Hours of the Dozos" and initiating new members. The association of Dozos and traditional healers of the Bankui region, in keeping with the aspirations of the country's highest authorities, chose the theme: "Dozo Customs and Traditions in the Context of the Struggle for National Sovereignty."

A large delegation from Mali reaffirmed the long-standing ties between the various brotherhoods. The highlight of the first day was traditional wrestling, dominated by Th©odore Konan©, a member of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) from Nayala, who won this year's competition with over sixty participants across all categories.

The rifle shooting competition drew more than twenty people. The most skillful shooter was Abdoul Raouf Karambiri, with an average of 19/20. In the cycling race, Djeneba Sanogo finished first out of 25 participants in the women's category, completing a 2km course. In the men's category, Ablac© Sor© emerged victorious, out of 12 cyclists at the starting line.
