Koosin/BALIMAYA TSF Cup: The Eagles of Sector 6 Secure Victory in Inaugural Tournament

Ouagadougou: The Secretary General of the Koosin Province, Firmin Bassol, presided over the final of the first edition of the "BALIMAYA TSF" football tournament on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Mgr Jean Lessourd Stadium in Nouna. The Eagles of Sector 6 triumphed over Touba Sport of Sector 1 with a narrow 1-0 victory.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the match unfolded in two 45-minute periods, attracting a large crowd eager to witness the event. Despite multiple opportunities for both teams, the first half concluded without any goals, showcasing a commendable technical display from both sides.

As the game resumed, the Eagles of Sector 6 began to assert dominance, but the resilient defense of Touba Sport managed to withstand the pressure for a significant duration. In the 75th minute, the Eagles were awarded a penalty after a well-executed attack. Aboubacar Benon successfully converted the penalty, marking the only goal of the match. The scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle, securing the Eagles' victory.

The Eagles of Sector 6 celebrated their win by claiming the trophy of this inaugural "BALIMAYA TSF" Cup. Organizers expressed satisfaction in achieving their goal of fostering social cohesion through the tournament, with all matches conducted in a spirit of fair play, fraternity, and community spirit.

Out of the 8 participating teams, 6 were rewarded based on their performance. The victorious Eagles of Sector 6 received the trophy, two sets of jerseys, seven balls, an envelope containing 262,000 CFA francs, and medals. Touba Sport, the runners-up from Sector 1, were awarded two sets of jerseys, six balls, 193,000 CFA francs, and medals.

Teams finishing third to sixth also received rewards in accordance with their rankings. Special prizes were distributed for categories such as best goalkeeper, best player, youngest player, and the most fair-play team.
