Koosin/madouba: The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Madouba, Kouka D©sir© Kiemd©, presided this Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Basic Education District (CEB) of Madouba relocated to Djibasso, over a meeting dedicated to the continuity of educational activities in the commune for the 2026-2027 school year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting focused on the continuity of educational activities in Madouba, following the initial meeting held on September 15, 2026, which addressed the reopening of schools in the area. Kouka D©sir© Kiemd© provided feedback to stakeholders, emphasizing parents' concerns over the resumption of classes, stating that: "Everyone is better off at home."
The Head of the CEB of Madouba, Vincent De Paul Millogo, revealed that discussions with the provincial director led to the selection of three sites-Madouba, Touba, and Yourouna-to group the commune's schools. This reorganization involves both relocations and reopenings, with schools such as Pia n°2 and Bamkoumani set to resume activities after being closed since 2023.
At the secondary level, Boukary Porgo, principal of the Madouba departmental high school, highlighted several needs, including clearing school grounds, access to drinking water, housing rehabilitation, teacher shortages, local security reinforcement, and secure convoys for staff movement. He announced the opening of 6th and 5th grade classes and called on parents to support the resumption of school activities.
The director of Yourouna school suggested classroom inspections post-eviction operations due to traces of individuals found in some classrooms. Meanwhile, Laurent Dabou, chairman of the Madouba primary school council, requested repairs for classroom roofs, and Pi© Karim Traor©, the school director, stressed the need for monitoring passengers around school premises.
The director of the Centre for Education for Integration (CEI) updated on his institution's situation, requesting practical training equipment, including a used sewing machine, sewing thread, and mechanical tools, urging for donations.
Vice-president of the special delegation, Ez©kiel Diarra, expressed satisfaction with students' return, urging the population to actively participate in resuming activities without solely relying on external aid.
At the meeting's conclusion, the PDS of Madouba proposed solutions to address raised concerns, thanked participants for their mobilization, and encouraged partners to strengthen collaboration with education stakeholders. Comrade Kiemd© called on parents to monitor students at home to support the resumption of educational activities.
