Koubri: The municipal authorities of Koubri launched the Municipal Tax Exemplarity Day on Monday, an initiative aimed at promoting tax compliance and increasing the mobilization of local resources for development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the municipal authorities officially launched the Municipal Tax Exemplarity Day at the Departmental Tax Office. The initiative, spearheaded by local authorities, aims to strengthen the mobilization of local resources and instill in citizens a sense of tax duty, the foundation of all local development.
Presided over by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Mr. Samad© L©onard Gougou, the ceremony brought together administrative officials, local leaders, and numerous citizens who came to demonstrate their support for this patriotic initiative.
Through this event, the municipality aims to raise awareness among taxpayers about the importance of regularly paying taxes and duties, particularly the residence tax, the motor vehicle tax (TVM), and firearms taxes, which are considered essential for financing infrastructure and basic social services.
In his address, the PDS emphasized the collective responsibility in building a prosperous and resilient community. "The development of Koubri is based on our common commitment. Paying taxes is not a constraint, but an act of patriotism and solidarity. Every contribution, however modest, participates in the realization of works for the benefit of all," said Mr. Gougou.
He also praised the performance recorded in 2025 in mobilizing local revenue, the result of the combined efforts of the Departmental Tax Service and the progressive support of the population. In recognition of this commitment, a letter of congratulations was presented to Mr. Yacouba Bado, Head of the Koubri Departmental Tax Service, for his dedication to the service of resource mobilization.
Addressing the citizens of the municipality in particular, the PDS urged them to maintain this virtuous dynamic by demonstrating exemplary fiscal behavior, an essential condition for ensuring the financial autonomy of the municipality and effectively meeting the expectations of the population.
The strong turnout at this ceremony reflects the growing interest of residents in local governance and citizen participation. It foreshadows a renewed commitment from the population alongside municipal authorities to build a better future, based on responsibility, solidarity, and patriotism.
