Kaya: A delegation of about fifty individuals, led by the president of the special delegation of the commune (PDS) of Tikare, Kiswendsida Benjamin Nikiema, conducted an immersion on Saturday at the Faso Mebo site in Kaya.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation, strengthened by nationals residing in Kaya, contributed to the production of several hundred paving stones.
Men and women of all ages from Tikare, located in the Bam province, demonstrated their support for the presidential initiative Faso Mebo in Kaya, the capital of the Koulse region. Armed with shovels and wheelbarrows, the men engaged in mixing, gathering, and loading sand and granite, transforming them into paving stones. Concurrently, the women rinsed the molds and coated them with oil to aid in unmolding.
The workspace quickly filled with filled molds, which require 24 hours before unmolding, in an atmosphere marked by reunion, fraternity, and patriotism. The president of the special delegation expressed that distance should not impede participation in this presidential initiative, hoping for similar actions from other municipalities.
Representatives of traditional chiefs, women, and youth echoed the call for genuine commitment from the population for the success of this endogenous development initiative. Sawadogo Ousmane, a native of Tikare, expressed satisfaction with the mobilization, noting the pleasure of joining relatives from the village to contribute physically to the Faso Mebo agency, which strengthens social cohesion and solidarity.
The initiative was marked by the presence of members from the special municipal delegation and also mobilized the municipal coordination of the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC), the municipal women’s coordination, and traditional authorities from Tikare. The commune of Tikare is one of the 28 communes in the Koulse region, located over 200 km from Kaya.
