Kourittenga: The High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, launched the 3rd edition of the Festival of Audiovisual Creations Meetings (RCA) in Koup©la, engaging administrative and customary authorities, African cinema professionals, cultural leaders, partners, and film enthusiasts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the festival aims to highlight young talents from the Center-East region, promote Burkinabe cinema, and enhance its visibility both locally and nationally. Juliette Jeannine Wango, the festival's deputy coordinator, introduced the key features of this edition, including film screenings, training sessions, and a new short film competition. This competition is set to encourage creativity among young filmmakers from clubs, schools, and associations, with the top entry receiving the 'Golden Goyak' award.
Despite resource challenges, Wango expressed optimism for the future of the festival's ambitions. Hippolyte Ouangrawa, the guest of honor, emphasized the educational value of cinema and encouraged participants to engage passionately and rigorously in the industry.
Moctar Ilboudo, reaffirming support from the provincial administration, described the festival as a catalyst for artistic creation and a means to foster a lasting interest in cinema among the youth of Kourittenga. He also assured ongoing support in collaboration with local authorities and benefactors, highlighting the role of cultural development in local advancement.
The 3rd edition of the Koup©la Audiovisual Creation Meetings is poised to be a hub for artistic expression and a platform for emerging talent, contributing to the growth of Burkinabe cinema.
