Paris: French Prime Minister Fran§ois Bayrou on Tuesday urged citizens to engage in efforts to stabilize the national budget, highlighting the unsustainable level of debt the country is facing.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Bayrou announced plans to propose a strategy aimed at achieving balanced public finances over the next three to four years. Speaking on BFMTV, he emphasized that the government's plan would require contributions from all citizens. He stressed that while the effort must be equitable, it needs to be significant enough to help France overcome its current financial predicament. The proposed plan is expected to be unveiled in July.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the country's indebtedness and noted that France's production lags behind neighboring countries. He also highlighted that the French population spends 10% more monthly than their income, underscoring the urgency of the fiscal measures.
