Kourittenga Belote Competition Sees Koupela Team Crowned Champion of 7th Edition

Kourittenga: The 7th edition of the belote competition, organized by the Belote Club Fraternity of Koupela, took place at the Tambella "A" school in Koupela, with the High Commissioner of Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, presiding over the opening ceremony. The event gathered belote clubs from Banfora, Ouagadougou, Boulsa, Pouytenga, Tenkodogo, Fada, and Koupela.

According to Burkina Information Agency, ten belote tables were registered for the competition, each comprising four teams with two players per team. The competition concluded with a team from Koupela securing the first prize, which included a yellow jersey, 100,000 FCFA, and a trophy. A team from Ouagadougou claimed second place, earning a blue jersey and 70,000 FCFA. Another team from Koupela took third place, receiving a green jersey and 50,000 FCFA, while a team from Ouagadougou finished fourth, winning 30,000 FCFA.

The Banfora team was awarded the 'combatancy prize'. Philipe Kere, president of the organizing committee, expressed satisfaction with the event's execution and extended gratitude to supporters of the competition. Paul Lourgo, the event's sponsor, praised the initiative for promoting recreational games and fostering a healthy environment for relaxation and fraternity.

Moctar Ilboudo highlighted the significance of such activities in promoting leisure and a more united society. He emphasized that belote stimulates reflection, fosters team spirit, and strengthens social ties, contributing to social cohesion and the animation of the province.
