Kourittenga: Burkinab¨ musician and gospel singer Paul-Marie Pouya, known by his stage name "Barkwend©," presented his new album, "W©nd Toi M¨," along with two music videos, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Pouytenga. The ceremony, held in front of members of the media, brought together family, friends, acquaintances, loyal supporters, and numerous fans who came to support the artist.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the album titled "W©nd Toi M¨" consists of 17 tracks and is intended as a message of hope, faith, and edification. The songs address themes related to education, life advice, divine blessing, and trust in God.
Representing the provincial director in charge of Culture for Kourittenga, Mohamed Thiombiano praised the artist's career and the quality of his work. He reaffirmed the provincial leadership's commitment to supporting cultural stakeholders in the province. 'We congratulate Paul-Marie Pouya on this new musical work which contributes to the promotion of our culture and positive values. The doors of the Provincial Directorate of Culture, Arts and Tourism remain open to support artists in their initiatives and development,' he said.
Paul-Marie Pouya explained that the making of this album spanned several years. Four tracks were recorded in 2020, six more in 2022, before the final seven were completed in 2025. Visibly moved, the artist gave thanks to God for his support throughout this project. 'I give all the glory to God who gave me the strength, the inspiration and the means to complete this album. My wish is that these songs touch hearts, strengthen the faith of listeners and bring blessings to families,' he maintained.
On behalf of the sponsors, Pastor Mose de Pouytenga congratulated the singer for his perseverance and the quality of his works. He invited the public to support the artist both through prayer and financial contributions to encourage him to continue his musical ministry.
