Pouytenga: The final of the 4th edition of the Fraternity Cup, organized by the provincial directorate in charge of Secondary Education of Kourittenga, was played on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in Pouytenga. The private high school Philadelphia of Koupéla triumphed over high school "Le citoyen" of Gounghin with a score of 4 goals to 2.According to Burkina Information Agency, 31 establishments participated in this year's Fraternity Cup competition held under the theme: 'Sport and sanitation of the school environment for quality education'. The competition's final showcased a thrilling match that concluded with the Philadelphia team winning after a penalty shootout.The victorious team was awarded the trophy, along with a set of jerseys, a ball, a financial envelope, and special prizes. Reflecting on the achievement, the team's coach, Georges Yameogo, remarked, "This is the first time we have won the cup in this Fraternity Cup competition."Dieudonné Belemssigri, the provincial director responsible for secondar y education in Kourittenga, highlighted that the initiative seeks to unite young people and promote social cohesion. Valérie Kaboré, the patron of this edition and a former Minister of Culture, stressed the importance of involving all stakeholders and partners in the education system to instill patriotic and civic values in young people.
