Ouagadougou: The Pag-La-Yiri Association of Baskour, with support from the Provincial Directorate of Family and Solidarity of Kourittenga, organized a training session on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Baskour, for 32 women and girls on the production of Kk-dunda. This initiative aims to equip internally displaced women, association board members, and residents of the girls’ home in the parish of Baskour with skills needed for income generation and financial independence.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training introduced participants to the various stages of making Kk-dunda, a skill that organizers believe could serve as a significant income source. The participants expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction with the training, viewing it as a crucial step towards financial self-sufficiency.

Adeline Koudougou, one of the beneficiaries, highlighted the importance of the opportunity, stating, “We are very happy to have benefited from this training. It allows us to learn an activity that we can do to earn an income and meet some of our needs.” Koudougou expressed gratitude towards the Pag-La-Yiri Association and the Provincial Directorate for their efforts.

Charlotte Oubda, president of the Pag-La-Yiri Association, commended the dedication and involvement of participants, encouraging them to apply the lessons learned. “Our association is convinced that women’s empowerment also involves learning income-generating activities,” she remarked.

Barthlmy Dodebzanga, representing the Provincial Directorate of Family and Solidarity, emphasized the importance of applying the skills acquired during the training. He encouraged participants to be diligent and to utilize their new knowledge to improve their living conditions.

This training initiative by the Pag-La-Yiri Association and the Provincial Directorate aims to enhance the living standards of women and girls, particularly those in vulnerable situations. The beneficiaries aspire to leverage their skills effectively and hope for future equipment support to transform this training into a sustainable economic activity.
