Kourittenga: The 4th edition of the Peace Marathon started in Koupela with a race dedicated to individuals living with disabilities. This event marked the commencement of this year's marathon activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, 27 participants, comprising 10 women and 17 men, competed in the 5-kilometer race. Samadou Koudougou emerged victorious in the men's category, while Marie Regina Kabore claimed the top spot in the women's category. Both winners were awarded 100,000 FCFA and a motorcycle as prizes.

The opening day of the Peace Marathon also featured the inauguration of a water tower in Kabega, located in the rural commune of Gounghin. This development is intended to support the women of the village, as announced by the authorities.
