Ouagadougou: Youth associations and organizations in the municipality of Baskour© convened on Friday, July 24, 2026, to discuss the establishment of the municipal youth council. The meeting, led by Ousmane Ilboudo, President of the Special Delegation of the municipality, aimed to inform leaders of various youth groups about the regulations governing the council’s formation, which seeks to enhance youth involvement in local development efforts.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting began with customary greetings, after which Ousmane Ilboudo invited participants to review the decree outlining procedures for establishing the Communal Youth Council. Participants expressed support for the initiative and committed to submitting necessary documentation for the selection of council members.

Ilboudo emphasized the importance of youth in community development and pledged support for initiatives that foster municipal progress. ‘Youth is an essential force for the development of our community. It is together, in unity and respect for the rules, that we will succeed in building a dynamic and representative Youth Council,’ he stated.

Joachim Nadembega, president of the Association of Young People United for Development, voiced gratitude to municipal authorities, affirming the association’s commitment to the council’s future and its efforts to advance Baskour©’s socio-economic development.

Charlotte Toussaga Oubda/Belembaogo, president of the Pag-La Yiri Association, encouraged women, particularly young girls, to actively engage in the council’s activities. She stressed the importance of women’s involvement in effective municipal development.

The meeting concluded with participants reiterating their commitment to collaborating with municipal authorities to ensure the successful establishment of the Municipal Youth Council, thereby promoting inclusive, participatory, and sustainable development in Baskour©.
