Ouagadougou: Sokbo Sia has been elected to lead the youth of the Zecco municipality as head of the newly established Zecco Youth Advisory Council. The appointment was presided over by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality, Etienne Sanglan, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, a total of seven members were appointed unanimously during the council’s establishment. The selection process included a commentary on the council’s texts by Diadi Nacoldia, the secretary general of Zecco, with translations provided in the local language, Ninkanr©, by Nioka Sia. This council aims to advocate for the interests of the youth within the Zecco commune.

Etienne Sanglan, the PDS of the commune, highlighted the consensus-driven selection as a testament to the unity and fraternity among Zecco’s youth. Meanwhile, newly appointed President Sokbo Sia expressed his satisfaction and readiness to lead, acknowledging the significant responsibility bestowed upon him.

Mr. Sia emphasized the council’s commitment to address the development challenges facing their community, calling for support from all social strata to achieve their objectives.
