Kuilse/Regional Special Delegation Focuses on 2026 Budget Orientation at Third Ordinary Session

Kuilse: The Central-North Regional Special Delegation convened its third ordinary session on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with a focus on budgetary orientation. This session facilitated deliberations and aimed to enhance the knowledge of participants regarding financial strategies for the year 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this gathering provided the Regional Special Delegation for the Centre-North with a platform to examine the priorities and main areas of the financial strategy for 2026. Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo, president of the Regional Special Delegation, emphasized that the adopted guidelines are designed to align with the expectations of the population while considering the economic context and state directives.

The session resulted in several resolutions. It confirmed the region's withdrawal from the International Association of Francophone Regions (AIRF), a membership held since 2007. Additionally, discussions led to amendments and adoption regarding the composition, responsibilities, and functioning of the standing committees within the Regional Special Delegation. Another resolution authorized the signing of a memorandum of understanding related to the implementation of the support program by the Fund for Literacy and Non-Formal Education (FONAENF).

Presentations during the session covered the 2026 budget circular for local authorities, the nutritional situation in the region, optimal resource mobilization strategies, tax compliance, and the university map of Burkina Faso. These presentations aimed to equip DSR members with additional tools.

The session also served an educational purpose, attended by 60 children who were present to learn about the Centre-Nord Regional Special Delegation. Under the supervision of early childhood specialists, the children observed the proceedings and engaged directly with Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ouedraogo to discuss the institution's missions. This initiative is part of the activities of children's clubs established in various municipalities in the region.
