Kaya: The Kuilse region, formerly known as Centre-Nord, has officially announced its withdrawal from the International Association of Francophone Regions (AIRF). This decision was made during the third ordinary session of the Kuilse Regional Special Delegation, which took place on Wednesday, September 24.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the unanimous decision to leave the AIRF marks the end of an 18-year membership for the Kuilse region. The move is part of a broader strategy by Burkina Faso to disengage from organizations associated with the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) and to align the region's policies with the country's new political directions.
The Regional Special Delegation's decision is seen as a significant step in reshaping the region's international affiliations and reflects the country's shifting political landscape. The withdrawal is aimed at realigning the region's activities with Burkina Faso's evolving priorities and strategic interests.
