Labor Day: Minister Bazié congratulates the Burkinabè people for their ‘high resilience’ and their ‘spirit of sacrifice’

Ouagadougou: The Minister in charge of Labor, Bassolma Bazié praised the Burkinabè people whose efforts made it possible to drive the occupying forces out of the country and to make progress in terms of security, culture, economy of good governance, in a message made public this Tuesday in Ouagadougou.'It is a duty for me to reiterate my congratulations to the Burkinabè people for their high resilience and their spirit of sacrifice. Indeed, by responding promptly and in an exemplary manner to the call of the Head of State, this enabled him' declared the Minister of State, Minister of the Civil Service, Labor and Social Protection, in his address on the occasion of the celebration of International Labor Day.According to him, 'the economic, security and socio-cultural resources of the country have been ransacked through suicidal political orientations but the spirit of sacrifice of the people has made it possible, 'on the political level: the departure of foreign forces from occupation of Burkina Faso, exis ting claim since the years of formal independence (1960), major milestone victory for national sovereignty, the commitment to major constitutional reforms, the vote on the law on the strengthening of political neutrality and meritocracy in public administration (pending since 1999), etc.In terms of security: the recruitment, training and staffing of at least 52,000 Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), 16,000 soldiers, 3,000 Gendarmes, 1,000 Police officers, 3,000 Water and Forestry Agents, the establishment of twenty-five (25) Rapid Intervention Battalions (BIR), around ten Groups of Mobile Intervention Units (GUMI), three (03) Airborne Intervention Battalions (BIA), six (06) Legions of Gendarmerie, six (06) military regions, the equipping of defense and security forces with cutting-edge equipment, the reopening of several schools (more than 1,295 educational structures re-opened) and health centers closed for years, the return of thousands of Internally Displaced People to their locality, et c.On the economic level: the start of the construction of a textile complex called IRO-TEXBURKINA in Sourgou in the Center-West region, the construction of a tomato processing factory, a textile industrial complex of the armed forces of Burkina Faso (TEXFORCES-BF), an ore processing plant, Brasserie du Faso (BRAFASO) in the Center region, the launch of several asphalting works for opening up, the rereading of the Mining Code to increase shares of the State, the launch of the agro-sylvo-pastoral and fisheries offensive, etc. Added to this is the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) for the financing of community businesses through Popular Shareholding, the development of a guide for securing artisanal and small-scale mining sites ( ASGM), etc.On a social level: the settlement of the file (pending since 1990) of the 548 staff of former popular daycare centers; the settlement of the case (pending since 2019) of 517 agents of the municipality of Ouagadougou; the issuance of decrees on union officials; the check-off and detention for strike action (all pending since August 2000); reimbursement of unfairly cut salaries; the organization of professional health and education exams blocked since 2019; the adoption of six decrees operationalizing the Universal Health Insurance Scheme (RAMU); reduction in dialysis, scanner and MRI costs; the rereading of the land law reducing the land area granted to no more than 5 ha.In addition, we can add the 'empty locker' operation in the management of career actions in ministries with large numbers of staff, particularly in the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages (MENAPLN) , the adoption of twenty-six (26) texts implementing the laws relating to the social security system in the public and private sectors, the adoption of a decree setting the guaranteed interprofessional minimum wage (SMIG) at 45,000 CFA francs the month, etc.On a cultural level: the return to our authentic sources and values by the establishment of May 15 as the Day of our Customs and Traditions, a great victory for the reconstruction, safeguarding and promotion of our cultural identity, a source of production of 'Men of dignity, integrity, honor and word.In terms of governance: the elimination of certain institutions with a view to reorganization, the internalization of civil service e-competition platforms to strengthen transparency, equality of opportunity and healthy recruitment of Human Resources of the public service. State, the diversification of partners, the reopening of the high courts of Dori and Kongoussi, etc.The minister also praised the memory of the fighters who died with weapons in their hands as well as the great mobilization which followed the Head of State's call for patriotic commitment.Voluntary and compulsory levies, taxes and donations from Burkinabè, the diaspora and friends, have enabled Burkina Faso to continue the fight against terrorism and the care of internally displaced people despite the punitive decisions of ce rtain countries and organizations.Source: Burkina Information Agency
