Fada n'gourma: Lassan© Ou©draogo was officially installed as the Regional Director of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity of Goulmou on Monday, August 4, 2025, in Fada N'Gourma. He succeeds Jean-Paul Ou©draogo under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the Gulmu region, Siaka Ouattara.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony marked the beginning of a new era for the regional management of Humanitarian Action in a region that has been grappling with a prolonged security and humanitarian crisis. The new regional director, Lassan© Ou©draogo, emphasized the significant challenges posed by the humanitarian situation and outlined his plans to enhance the coordination of interventions and synergy between different actors.
Lassan© Ou©draogo stated the importance of combined efforts and collaboration with regional authorities, civil society, and decentralized state services to effectively address the pressing concerns in the region. His predecessor, Jean-Paul Ou©draogo, who led the structure from May 2, 2024, to August 4, 2025, achieved several milestones, including the training of 200 women in weaving and dyeing, caring for over 517 unaccompanied children, and providing assistance to more than 200 girls who were victims of gender-based violence (GBV). Additionally, psychosocial support was extended to over 6,000 elderly individuals.
The achievements under Jean-Paul Ou©draogo's leadership earned the Goulmou regional management 5th place in the 2024 national ranking for governance, efficiency, and activity completion rate. Secretary General Siaka Ouattara commended the outgoing director's accomplishments and congratulated Lassan© Ou©draogo on his new role. He assured the new director of the regional administration's support and encouraged strengthening collaboration within the team, emphasizing teamwork as essential for achieving desired results.
