Launch of Patriotic Engagement Days in Baz¨ga: Schoolchildren and Educators Gather for National Ceremony

Baz‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬¹€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬¦¡¬ ga: On the occasion of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation, schoolchildren and education stakeholders met at the provincial directorate of primary education in Kombissiri for the raising of the colors followed by discussions on the message of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the provincial directorate of preschool, primary, and non-formal education (DPEPPNF) of Baz¨ga. Schoolchildren and education actors from Kombissiri, dressed in traditional "Faso dafani" and "Koko dunda" outfits, gathered early for the ceremonial raising of the national colors as part of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) 2026.

The ceremony began with the performance of the national anthem, the Ditany¨, sung in the national language Moore. Claude Ouedraogo, the provincial director in charge of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Baz¨ga, delivered a message from Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Faso, highlighting the theme of the 2026 JEPPC: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption."

Mr. Ouedraogo encouraged those present to embrace honesty as Burkinabe citizens and to support local products as a means to combat imperialism. He emphasized the importance of consuming what is produced locally, promoting the idea of economic independence.

He further urged schoolchildren and education stakeholders to wear traditional outfits and consume local dishes, reinforcing the promotion of Burkinab¨ culture and the assertion of national sovereignty.
