Leraba High Commissioner Calls for Public Support in Development Initiatives

Leraba: The High Commissioner of the province of Leraba, Yacouba Sawadogo, has called on the population to support the State in its development endeavors, as he addressed the community in Sindou on Monday, December 29, 2025, on the eve of the new year festivities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Sawadogo extended his wishes for health, success, and prosperity to the people of Leraba and emphasized the importance of supporting the State's development initiatives in the coming year. He also prayed for peace in the country, highlighting three key points in his address.

As the end-of-year festivities approached, Sawadogo urged the community to exercise caution due to the current situation, while keeping in mind the FDS who are on the front line, and to celebrate the season with sobriety. He encouraged the people of Leraba to actively participate in community projects and to assist authorities in acquiring land for the establishment of SONAGES stores, which are intended to enhance food security in the region.

He expressed concern over potential delays in the food security project, attributing these to the community's reluctance to engage in land negotiations for constructing infrastructure that would benefit them. Sawadogo also highlighted a period of solidarity initiated by the humanitarian action service and urged the population to contribute generously.

Sawadogo stressed that contributions, regardless of their nature, are appreciated as they symbolize a moment of sharing among the province's residents, aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals in Leraba. He also informed prospective contributors about the availability of contribution recognition forms in various public services throughout the province.
