Ouagadougou: Campers at the first Faso Mbo holiday camp in the Liptako-Soum region took a solemn pledge on Saturday in Dori to apply the values of civic responsibility and patriotism acquired during their stay on a daily basis.
According to Burkina Information Agency, through their representative, Joël Oudraogo, the campers made this commitment on the occasion of their official exit, in the presence of the governor of the Liptako-Soum region, Comrade Abdoul Karim Zongo, administrative, military and paramilitary authorities, as well as their parents. At the end of ten days of activities, the camp residents stated that they had been equipped to become responsible, disciplined citizens committed to serving their country.
Camper Joël Oudraogo indicated that the stay was marked by civic and patriotic education, the strengthening of discipline, the completion of community work, and developmental activities. According to the campers’ representative, this first experience allowed them to acquire practical knowledge
and consolidate several fundamental values, including integrity, discipline, solidarity, respect, patriotism, and a sense of the common good. “The main lesson I learned is that discipline is not a constraint, but the key to freedom and mental strength,” he said.
On behalf of his classmates, he expressed his gratitude to the trainers for their patience and guidance, to the administrative authorities for this initiative which he described as far-sighted, and to the parents for the trust placed in their children. Speaking on behalf of the parents, Elhadji Boubacar invited the campers to preserve and build upon the lessons learned during their stay. He also pledged to continue, with the other parents, the education of children within families in order to consolidate the values acquired at camp.
The parents’ representative also reiterated his gratitude to the highest authorities of Burkina Faso for offering young people this opportunity for learning and training through the Faso Mbo holiday camp. Representing th
e commander of the 4th military region, sponsor of this first edition, Battalion Commander Fayçal Ilboudo expressed his satisfaction at the end of this first experience. He expressed his gratitude to the President of Faso, Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traor, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for this initiative, the extension of which to the 4th military region has allowed young people to benefit from a training framework focused on civic duty, patriotism, and discipline.
This official exit marks the end of ten days of learning for the campers of the first edition of Faso Mbo in the Liptako-Soum region. They leave with a commitment to uphold, in their families, schools, and communities, the values of civic responsibility, discipline, and patriotism instilled during their stay.
