Loroum/Jeppc 2026: Education Stakeholders Promote Local Cuisine

Loroum: As part of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the provincial directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Loroum organized a day of promoting local dishes at school in Titao on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event transformed the provincial directorate into an exhibition space where local products and board games were featured prominently. The atmosphere was lively, with attendees enjoying the various local dishes and participating in different activities.

Sidiki Mande, the provincial director of primary education for Loroum, emphasized that the initiative showcases their dedication to supporting the progressive and popular revolution advocated by the country's highest authorities. "This activity allows us to instill in younger generations African culture, particularly the importance of traditional foods," Mande stated, urging the teaching staff to align with the ideals of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP) initiated by President Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso.

The event was chaired by Sidiki Ganame, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Titao municipality, and under the patronage of Captain Djibril Bassole, High Commissioner of Loroum Province. It began with a flag-raising ceremony attended by the national police, where Titao's Central Police Commissioner, Sousso Millogo, and his officers provided guidance on the principles and techniques of handling the national flag, emphasizing civic duty and patriotism.

At the event's stalls, local authorities were presented with several traditional dishes. Teacher Marie Viviane Kagone/Nikiema, an exhibitor, expressed her pride in the initiative, highlighting its support for the President's vision and its role in fostering community gatherings despite the challenging security situation.

The event's success, marked by the teachers' commitment to the ideals of the progressive and popular revolution, was celebrated by Captain Djibril Bassole, who expressed his delight at the overwhelming support and participation of education stakeholders.
