L©raba Youth Receive 3,000,000 CFA Francs in Supplies from Wahgnion Gold Operations

L©raba: The mining company Wahgnion Gold Operations (WGO) has provided school supplies and uniforms valued at 3,000,000 CFA francs to 50 young individuals from L©raba province. This initiative, which took place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Sindou, is part of the company's efforts to support vocational training. The handover was conducted by Mamadou Kabr©, the community relations superintendent for the mine.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the beneficiaries hail from various communes within L©raba province and are sponsored by WGO to receive professional training in fields such as welding, electricity, and sewing. This training is facilitated at the provincial vocational training center in Sindou, known as 'Burkina suudu bawde (BSB)' in Fulfulde. As part of its sponsorship, WGO has allocated nearly 3,300,000 CFA francs to cover costs including tuition, supplies, personal protective equipment, and examination fees for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Mamadou Kabr©, representing WGO, emphasized the company's commitment to maintaining good relations with the community through corporate social responsibility initiatives that prioritize education and vocational training for youth. During the event, Mr. Kabroffered advice to the learners, who also presented some concerns to WGO regarding the continuation of their sponsorship.

In response to inquiries about ongoing support, Mr. Kabrindicated that the continuation of sponsorship would depend on the examination results of the current cohort. He encouraged the students to be diligent and strive for success. Additionally, there was a consensus in principle for the students to visit the mine as part of their learning experience.
