Manni Civil Society Pledges Support Amid Security Challenges

Manni: The vital forces of the commune of Manni presented their New Year's greetings to the prefect, Emmanuel Tindano, reaffirming their support for the authorities and the fighting forces amid significant security challenges.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, brought together all the constituted bodies of the department. It highlighted the vitality of the local social fabric and the collective will to preserve social cohesion and the continuity of public action. Viviane/Bourgou Dabongou, Vice-President of the Special Delegation, extended wishes for health, peace, and success to the Prefect, acknowledging his commitment and close ties with the local population. She urged the strengthening of social cohesion and synergy among local stakeholders.

Lieutenant "Blade," head of the military detachment in Manni, reaffirmed the commitment of the FDS to continue securing the commune and its surroundings. He also praised the resilience of the people and their constant support for the fighting forces. Marcellin D. Damolga, head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), voiced gratitude to the administrative and security authorities, emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity to tackle security and socio-economic challenges.

Prefect Emmanuel Tindano concluded the speeches by thanking the participants and commending the courage of the people and the professionalism of the security forces. He urged the vital forces to remain united for the consolidation of peace and the revival of local development. The presence of the International Emergency Program (IEP), the only NGO currently operating in the commune, was acknowledged for its humanitarian support in strengthening the resilience of the population. An appeal was made to other partners to resume their activities, reinforcing mutual trust between the administration, the security forces, and the people of Manni.
