Ouagadougou: The head of Burkina Faso diplomacy, Jean Marie Karamoko Traoré, received from his colleague in Culture, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, a batch of 70 works of art intended for the decoration of diplomatic missions and consular posts of Burkina Faso, Tuesday in Ouagadougou.The gesture emanating from the Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, falls within the framework of the mechanism for acquiring works of art for the benefit of public buildings.The fourth of its kind, this edition made it possible to constitute a collection of seventy (70) works composed of sculptures, paintings, photographs, bogolan, art drawing and batik.These unique productions, through their creative techniques and materials as well as their originality, eloquently demonstrate the living inspiration and genius of our creators, according to Mr. Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism.For him, the strategic choice to make this collection exclusively available to our embassies is justified by a desire on the one hand to facilitate access to works of art for our compatriots, and on the other hand to confer an identity culture to these buildings in order to disseminate and promote it.By receiving this endowment of works of art, the head of Burkinabe diplomacy expressed all his satisfaction to the department in charge of Culture.'This noble act calls upon us once again to become true ambassadors of our culture, a lever for sustainable endogenous development of our dear homeland. For my part, I will implement a system to facilitate the transmission of works as quickly as possible to the identified diplomatic representations, while engaging them to guarantee the greatest care and better exploitation of these precious creations,' underlines Minister Traoré.Still in the dynamic of further promoting Burkinabè works of art, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the opinion of Mr. Traoré, now intends to organize each year, an exhibition within the d epartment for the benefit of artists and artisans, an exhibition to which diplomatic missions established in Burkina Faso will be invited.Source: Burkina Information Agency
