Bam: The Minister of Family and Solidarity, Lieutenant-Colonel Passowend© P©lagie Kabor©, has praised the resilience of communities resettled in the Bam province's villages, located in the Kouls© region. This commendation followed her support tour on August 3 and 4, 2026, as observed by AIB.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Kabor©'s visit began in Kongoussi, where she was received by Bernadette Adenyo/Serm©, Secretary General of the Kouls© region, and Karim Ou©draogo, High Commissioner of Bam. Her two-day tour aimed to assess the living conditions of resettled populations, hear their concerns, and deliver a message of solidarity from President Ibrahim Traor©.

The minister's delegation visited three localities in two communes that were abandoned due to insecurity in 2023 and 2024 but have since been resettled by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the second quarter of 2026.

Minister Kabor© emphasized the tour's purpose of encouraging returning populations, evaluating resettlement conditions, and identifying ongoing challenges. She noted the populations' resilience and gratitude towards the authorities and security forces for facilitating their return.

Minister Kabor© distributed agricultural machinery and food aid to residents of each village during the lean season, emphasizing the importance of productive activities over welfare. She encouraged villagers to use the equipment to boost productivity and autonomy.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to President Traor© and Minister Kabor©, while also raising concerns about reviving basic social services, developing infrastructure, and repairing roads. The minister concluded that the focus on development reflects a commitment to rebuilding their communities sustainably.
