Mobile Court Brings Judicial Services to Mogtdo Residents

Mogtdo:A mobile court session was conducted at the Mogtdo town hall in Ganzourgou province from September 21 to September 22, 2026, addressing ten correctional cases.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative, supported financially by the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation (Enabel), sought to make judicial services more accessible. The court addressed cases of gender-based violence and land disputes, among others.

Deputy Prosecutor Sadou Kiemd emphasized the importance of bringing justice closer to the people, explaining that such hearings are typically held at the Ouagadougou High Court. By holding the session in Mogtdo, residents could have their cases heard nearer to their homes.

In addition to examining cases, the mobile court facilitated the issuance of civil status records and nationality certificates, as well as corrections to civil status documents. Sadou Kiemd highlighted that this initiative helps demystify the judicial process, making it more understandable and approachable for the public.

Presiding Judge Lassan Guelbeogo noted that bringing the court to the people allows for a better public understanding of the justice system, thereby reducing apprehension about legal proceedings. He expressed gratitude for Enabel's support and hoped that similar initiatives could be extended to other provinces.

The event, which lasted two days, combined the examination of correctional cases with the issuance of administrative and judicial documents, aiming to enhance access to justice services for the local population.
