Toma:The third ordinary session of the Special Municipal Delegation of Toma focused on vocational training for young people and budget guidelines for the 2027 fiscal year. The session took place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, and was chaired by Zakaria Sawadogo, President of the Special Delegation of Toma.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was held at a strategic point in the municipal budget cycle. It aimed to review actions taken in 2026 and establish main guidelines for preparing the 2027 municipal budget.
A presentation highlighted the significance of vocational training in aiding the socio-professional integration of young people. Delivered by Sanou Houda from the provincial directorate of Youth, Sports, and Vocational Training for Nayala, it detailed opportunities at the Toma Provincial Vocational Training Centre. The centre offers an eight-month training course leading to the Professional Qualification Certificate (CQP) and modular courses ranging from two to 40 days. Courses cover areas such as building electricity and motorcycle engine mechanics, and are open to individuals aged 15 and over, particularly targeting those who have left school, are unemployed, or seek to enhance their skills.
The budget orientation debate, led by Oumar Barro, explored the evolution of the municipality's revenues and expenditures, financial prospects, and multi-year commitments. Participants were encouraged to make realistic and constructive proposals aligned with the municipality's financial capacity.
These sessions aim to strengthen local governance and better direct municipal investments towards addressing the priority needs of the population.
