Ouagadougou:President Ibrahim Traor announced a plan to introduce a new Constitution aimed at completely reorganizing the country's political system. The President emphasized the need to break away from current political practices that he believes are unproductive.
According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traor expressed his desire to redefine how the state functions. He criticized the prevailing political mindset, which he described as prioritizing discourse and confrontation over practical work and development.
The President highlighted the need to overcome the mentality of "political entrepreneurs" who, he argues, focus on misleading the public rather than serving the country's interests. He called for citizens to prioritize work over political maneuvering.
Traor also questioned the traditional model of a political system characterized by constant opposition between the majority and the opposition. He warned that such confrontations could impede progress on infrastructure and other essential projects for the people.
Emphasizing the importance of continuity in public policy, President Traor suggested that the state should have a vision that extends beyond changes in leadership. He pointed to countries like Russia, China, and Iran as examples of nations with long-term state visions.
He proposed that African countries should adopt systems that ensure continuity in public policies, reducing conflicts between majority and opposition factions.
