Mouhoun/Burkina Faso Motorcycle Tour Highlights Safety and Tourism Promotion

Dedougou: The Secretary General of the Bankui region, Adjara Sandrine Ouedraogo, led the 5th stage of the Burkina Faso Motorcycle Tour in Dedougou. The event, held under the theme "Tourism, Discovery, Safety and Resilience: Burkina Faso in Integration and on the Move," seeks to promote road safety, domestic tourism, and solidarity within the nation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the caravan of motorcyclists was greeted by enthusiastic crowds in Dedougou, marking a significant event in the "city of Bankuy." The motorcyclists paid a courtesy visit to the canton chief's palace and were received at the governorate and town hall of Dedougou. The day's events concluded with activities at the Bikers' Village in "Martyrs' Square."

The ceremony was attended by administrative and traditional authorities along with the public. Adjara Sandrine Ouedraogo emphasized the tour's role in promoting responsible driving and showcasing Burkina Faso's tourist attractions. She highlighted that the initiative aims to present the country positively despite ongoing security challenges.

Karim Diarra, the sponsor of the stage and CEO of Hotel Diarra, commended the motorcyclists for fostering fraternity and solidarity. Diarra affirmed that the tour, which began on November 8, 2025, underscores Burkina Faso as a viable tourist destination.

Adama Ouedraogo, president of West Coast Adventure and project sponsor, explained that the Motorcycle Tour intends to spread cautionary messages, attract interest in national tourist sites, and strengthen bonds with local populations. The presence of motorcyclists from neighboring countries further emphasized regional cooperation and tourism.

The caravan also made donations to ten wards of the nation from the region, reflecting the motorcyclists' commitment to supporting children of fallen national service members. Moussa Sawadogo, the Tour's communications officer, noted the importance of showing compassion and support to these children.

Technical demonstrations and discussions were held to raise public awareness about road safety, helmet use, and responsible behavior. Participants expressed admiration for the region's tourism potential and the hospitality shown to the caravan.

Following the Dedougou stage, the Burkina Faso Motorcycle Tour will continue to other regions to further its awareness-raising and tourism promotion efforts.
