Mouhoun Educational Directorate Contributes to Faso Mªbo with 1,600,000 CFA Francs Donation

Mouhoun: The Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Mouhoun has made a significant contribution to the Faso Mªbo initiative by donating construction equipment and materials valued at 1,600,000 CFA francs. The event took place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, and was attended by key officials, including the High Commissioner of the province, Bassouleymane Ouattara, and the Regional Director in charge of Secondary Education, Raoul Sanon.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the educational community in Mouhoun has embraced the national mobilization dynamic by participating in the building of the Nation through the Faso Mªbo initiative. The donation comprises 10 tons of cement, a 32m3 truckload of sand, 20 shovels, 5 pickaxes, and several sets of 60 gloves. These materials aim to support the activities under the initiative, which is seen as a crucial lever for development and the enhancement of solidarity and social cohesion.

The handover ceremony was marked by the presence of the High Commissioner of Mouhoun Province, the Regional Director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training for the Bankuy and Sourou regions, along with a delegation of school principals, teachers, and students, led by the Provincial Director, Aude Claudine Ki/Ou©draogo. She expressed that the gesture symbolizes the ongoing commitment of the Mouhoun educational community to development and solidarity efforts.

Aude Claudine Ki/Ou©draogo highlighted that the donation resulted from the collective mobilization of students, teachers, school principals, and administrative staff, responding to the call from the Head of State. She also mentioned that further contributions are being gathered, with a potential second handover in the coming days to continue the spirit of solidarity and citizen engagement.

Regional Director Raoul Sanon commended the provincial management's swift response to the President of Faso's call. He emphasized the importance of collective engagement by the people of Burkina Faso in national construction, underscoring responsibility and sovereignty.

High Commissioner Basouleymane Ouattara, receiving the donation on behalf of the committee, lauded the educational community's strong mobilization and expressed gratitude for their substantial contribution. This donation reinforces the momentum of the Faso Mªbo initiative within the province.

This initiative underscores citizen participation initiated by the authorities, reaffirming the strategic role of schools in building a united and responsible Burkina Faso, committed to sustainable development.
