Ouagadougou: Development stakeholders in the municipality of Tchriba validated, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, the main guidelines of the 2026 Annual Investment Plan (AIP), with a total amount of 159,249,660 FCFA, during the first session of the municipal consultation framework chaired by the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Tchriba, Ouesseni Logora. The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Tchriba, Ouesseni Logora, recalled that the development of the annual investment plan responds to the need to ensure the continuity of municipal development planning.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Municipal Development Plan (PCD), adopted in 2018, has expired since 2023, making it essential to define a new investment programming framework. The municipal authority stressed that this approach will allow the municipality to have a reference framework to guide priority investments during the year 2026, in line with the needs expressed by the population.
"The PAI 2026 includes nine priority actions covering the main development sectors of the municipality, including health, education, public infrastructure, and local economic development," he said. Using the municipality's own resources, six projects will be financed for a total amount of more than 97 million FCFA. The health sector benefits from the largest allocation, including the acquisition of materials and equipment for the benefit of the Health and Social Promotion Centers (CSPS) of the municipality, at an estimated cost of nearly 9.9 million FCFA.
The document also provides for the rehabilitation of the Oualou CSPS, which was moved and then reinstalled during the first quarter of 2025 after acts of vandalism and looting perpetrated by armed terrorist groups. The works, estimated at around 7 million FCFA, should provide better working conditions for the health staff already assigned to the site and improve access to care for the population. Still in the health sector, the municipality intends to complete the work on the maternity ward of the Medical Centre, a project budgeted at nearly 44 million FCFA.
The education sector is also receiving special attention with an allocation of 17.1 million FCFA intended for the construction of the fence around the nursery school as well as for the acquisition of materials and equipment for the benefit of the high schools and colleges in the municipality. In addition, investments of around 19.5 million FCFA are planned for the fencing work and the connection to the water network of the municipal hostel.
Three structuring projects have been selected under the Local Authorities Development Support Fund (ADCT). The main project involves the construction of 20 shops for rent, at a cost of over 53 million FCFA, with a view to strengthening municipal revenues and stimulating economic activities. The same funding will also enable the acquisition of community latrines and the installation of streetlights for public lighting, for a total amount estimated at 7.9 million FCFA.
At the end of the discussions, the participants approved the 2026 Annual Investment Plan for the municipality of Tchriba, the total cost of which amounts to 159,249,660 FCFA, reflecting the desire of the municipal authorities to strengthen basic social services, develop community infrastructure, and promote local economic development for the benefit of the population.
