Mouhoun: The agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in Ouarkoye have received a substantial supply of seeds and agricultural equipment from the State. This initiative is part of a broader agro-pastoral and fishery offensive aimed at boosting national production and achieving food self-sufficiency.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony took place on Friday, July 3, 2026, and was led by Idrissa Ganame, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Ouarkoye. The event was attended by various heads of technical services and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).

The allocation to the VDP includes 200 kg of composite maize seeds, 50 kg of cowpea seeds, 100 kg of peanuts, 1 kg of okra seeds, along with 2 tarpaulins, 1 seeder, 1 electric sprayer, and 1 manual sprayer. These resources are intended to enhance agricultural yields and support the agro-pastoral initiative's objectives as guided by national authorities.

Municipal authorities and technical services have urged the beneficiaries to utilize these inputs and equipment effectively to contribute to the campaign's success. The agricultural VDP expressed gratitude for the State's support, viewing it as a crucial tool for enhancing their production capabilities.

The VDPs have committed to making the best use of the resources to produce significant results and contribute to national food security. With these new inputs and equipment, they aim to rise to the challenge of increasing production, aligning with the authorities' call to intensify efforts toward achieving food sovereignty.
