Nahouri Collective Marriage Ceremony Unites Seven Couples in P´

Nahouri: The president of the special delegation of the commune of P´, Ilassa Dianda, officiated a collective marriage ceremony for seven couples as a part of the March 8, 2025, activities. The event, held this Saturday, witnessed these couples formalizing their unions in front of witnesses, acquaintances, members of the P´ women's organizations coordination office, and officials from the humanitarian action department.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was organized by the communal coordination of women's organizations in P´, in collaboration with the provincial directorate in charge of the Nahouri family. The seven couples made a commitment to live together in matrimony, marking a significant milestone in their lives. Alima Ada/Alira, the municipal coordinator, expressed her satisfaction with the successful execution of the event, despite its delay. She emphasized the importance of the 'couple life' conference organized for the couples, to help them become role models in their community.

President of the Special Delegation, Ilassa Dianda, lauded the couples for their commitment and praised the initiators for successfully organizing the event. Dianda also encouraged the couples to provide guidance to younger couples and urged the previously married couples who regularized their status to maintain their supportive roles.

The ceremony concluded with each couple receiving three loincloths from the coordination. They then proceeded to their respective religious denominations to further cement their unions. The event was sponsored by Claude W. Gomgnimbou, CEO of Global Investissement Burkina. Among the couples, the oldest is aged 45 and the youngest 26.
