Nahouri: The governor of the Nazinon region, Massalado Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou, launched the “Patriotic Hour to Re-green Burkina Faso” initiative in Po, urging key stakeholders to assume individual responsibility for preserving the environment. She was accompanied by Adama Jean Yves Bere, governor of the Nando region, and regional ministers from Ghana, Donatus Akamugri Atanga from the Upper East Region, and Salisu Be-Awuribe from the Savannah Region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative aims to plant approximately 200,000 trees in the Nahouri province as part of a larger effort to foster environmental conservation. The event saw active participation from Ghanaian officials, who were in Po for activities relating to the national border commission, with each contributing to the tree-planting effort.
The presence of Ghanaian ministers was a testament to regional collaboration in addressing climate challenges. Massalado Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou emphasized the need for collective and individual responsibility, stating that success in this 8th edition of the initiative would pave the way for Burkina Faso’s transition to a greener and more resilient nation.
